Follow My Leader

Jimmy Carter was living a good life, but one day while he and his friends were playing baseball the day after the Fourth of July Art found a leftover firecracker which was illegal except on the Fourth of July. Jimmy tried to stop him, but Art threw the fire cracker at him and it exploded in his face leaving him blind. Jimmy now must relearn pretty much everything that involves sight in a different way.

This book is based on a true story. When the author was a child his mom sold German Shepherds for seeing eye dogs. He met Jimmy at a dog show. Jimmy told him how he lost his eyesight because of a firecracker.
