The Shakespeare Stealer

Widge is a fourteen year old orphan that gets taken in under the wing of a preacher, who makes him learn the art of shorthand, a writing method where you use abbreviations for words using symbols, dots, or dashes and writing down peoples exact words as they are being said. The pastor then has him copy other pastors’ sermons down. The pastor then gives him away to a complete stranger who brings him to his new master and his new master gives him his first assignment “steal Shakespeare’s new play, Hamlet or else.” This is the exciting story of Widge and how he wrecks The Globe.
